1. Why does Pehle India not look as jazzy as other present day websites?
We’d like to be easilly accessible to citizens from smaller towns where our research shows they have older computers and lower bandwidth. A “jazzy” site could take up unnecessary bandwidth and perhaps even be un-usable from their perspective.
We’ve purposely created a site that is easy to access for millions of our prospective members across India. It uses basic colours within a basic screen resolution and absolutely no images so members logging in from cybercafés in small towns can also see the site exactly as their big city counterparts would. Our site is easy on the eye and does not take away from what could potentially be serious discussions. We’re sure all this makes our platform very attractive to citizen networking enthusiasts.
If you have suggestions on how we could better serve citizen networking enthusiasts, feel free to write to us at feedback@pehleindia.com
2. Why has my post from the discussion board vanished?
Any post that makes a personal attack on an individual or a community will be removed. We respect everyone’s right to freedom of speech and expression, but we also believe that right comes with the responsibility to respect other individuals. You’re welcome to express your opinion on actions, policies or events – but no personal attacks will be tolerated. Obscene posts and advertisements will also not be tolerated.
If your post did not fall into that category and yet you cannot find it, please write to us at webmaster@pehleindia.com immediately, and we will look into
it.
If you find a post that is not suitable or hurts an individual’s or community’s
feelings, please write to us at abuse@pehleindia.com immediately.
3. Why are you not asking members to enter their caste or religion or other such information while registering so that a more thorough profile is captured?
We do not recognize caste, community, mother tongue, religion (or other such parameters) as an appropriate way to distinguish between citizens of India.
4. What other activities does Pehle India organise?
Pehle India, in its current form, is purely an online developer of the citizen networking platform pehleindia.com and does not organise or perform offline activities. We do hope, however, that citizens will use the online platform to make an impact in the offline world.
5. How often can I change “My Opinion” on pehleindia.com?
You can (in fact should) change your opinion on the “My Opinion” section of our site as often as (and whenever) you change your opinion in the real world. We urge you to keep that section current – a true representation of your actual opinions. In fact we even urge you to check back often in case there are more questions added. The whole point of pehleindia.com is that members interact with each other and share ideas or engage in debates. Opinions are bound to change in such an environment and it would help us all if you update the “My Opinion” section when that happens. Not only would that truly reflect on the “National Pulse”, it would also be a more accurate representation of your citizen networking profile.
